The Council of Ministers approved on December 20, 2022 Royal Decree 1030/2022 , in charge of regulating the conditions in which the assistance services will carry out their functions on public roads.
Said Decree also includes the technical details of the new GEOLOCATIONABLE car emergency light that all vehicles will have to carry as of January 1, 2026 , replacing the popular emergency triangles.
Currently, the mandatory use of this new device established in RD 159/2021 is for all passenger cars that circulate in National territory, however, the DGT is working so that later this regulation can also be of a European scope.
