V-16 SOS emergency beacon regulations
FlashLED V-16 SOS geolocatable with connectivity to the DGT 3.0 connected vehicle platform
Royal Decree 1030/2022, of December 20, 2022, which modifies Royal Decree 159/2021, of March 16, 2021, which regulates assistance services on public roads.
With this definitive publication of Royal Decree 1030/2022, the latest technical specifications of the DGT 3.0 connected vehicle platform and of the geolocatable V-16 emergency beacons that will be mandatory from January 1, 2026 are confirmed.
The V-16 safety and assistance beacon, which comes to replace the emergency triangles, is made to simplify the signaling of accidents and mechanical breakdowns with motor vehicles.
At Flash LED we have been working for months on the development of our FlashLED V-16 SOS geobeacon, a luminous warning device for danger with connectivity to the DGT 3.0 connected vehicle platform.
Through the FlashLed V-16 SOS beacon, drivers who use the road network are connected to services of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) in the event of a car and motorcycle breakdown.
The communications service to connect with the DGT 3.0 national traffic and mobility access point for more than 13 years has been provided through Telefónica's flagship 3G/4G iOT network at no additional cost to users.
The FlashLED v16 SOS beacon, the result of Spanish engineering and innovation, is manufactured in Spain with an innovative design that already has two international design awards, the 2022 European Product Design Awards (ePDA) and Good Design Australia.
